Education and Outreach

The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (“KSBHA”), through its Education & Outreach Committee, is proactively increasing our efforts to reach out to applicants, licensees, stakeholders, program directors, professional associations, and others throughout Kansas to provide an opportunity for education and presentations.

In addition to our virtual scheduled presentations, we are also providing direct educational presentations. Currently, the following presentations are available:

Licensing: Provides a general overview of the agency, our licensing department, application process and requirements, information on renewals, continuing education, audits, and our COVID-19 response. The licensing presentations are tailored to the specific profession and practice act.
Professionalism: Provides a general overview of the complaint, investigation, and litigation process, as well as grounds for disciplinary action and types of Board action. This presentation also addresses prevention and remedial measures. The professionalism presentations are tailored to the specific profession and practice act.
KSBHA: Who we are, What we do, and How we do it: Provides an aerial overview of the agency, insight into each department, licensing, recent and pending changes, agency resources, and our COVID-19 response.
KSBHA: Investigations: Provides a more in-depth look at the complaint, investigation, and litigation process of disciplinary cases, insight into common complaints and investigations, and how Kansas law impacts the investigation process.
KSBHA: Complaints: Provides a more in-depth look at complaints submitted to the Board. Specifically, the presentation provides information on who can submit a complaint, who is required to submit a complaint, the complaint process, and how Kansas law impacts complaints.
Healthcare Professional Wellness: Healthcare professional wellness is a critical and timely topic and relates directly to patient safety. This presentation provides a general overview on healthcare professional wellness, KSBHA’s approach and advances in our agency to promote healthcare professional wellness, frequently asked question, and resources.

The Board will be continually developing presentations. Additionally, we welcome ideas for specific presentations to meet the educational needs of those we license and interact with.
